In business since 1975, Owens has grown from modest beginnings to a large 5 acre site based in Channelview, Texas. Featuring 71,200 sq. ft. of state-of-the-art fabrication facilities and equipment, Owens Specialty Company, Inc. is set up to handle a wide scope of projects from heavy structural oilfield fabrications to industrial air handling equipment.

One feature settings Owens Specialty Company, Inc. apart from others is lift capacity, with two 25 ton, two 20 ton, three 10 ton, and six 5 ton cranes. With lift heights to 30’ feet, Owens Specialty Company, Inc. has the capacity to handle any projects that come our way.

Owens Specialty Company, Inc. strives to maintain a workforce of between 50 to 60 highly skilled craftsmen who work flexible hours based on customer requirements. At Owens Specialty Company, Inc., we pride ourselves on being able to provide a high quality, on-time product at fair market price.

Staff

Gary Owens,
President

With 35 years of experience in steel fabrication, Gary has a knowledge of the industry that few possess. He is involved in the management of day to day operations and is always available at any time.

Luke Owens,
General Manager

Luke has been with the company since 2008. He attended the University of Houston, Bauer College of Business and is a Six Sigma Black Belt, having studied through Villanova University. His project management experience includes GE’s LM6000 Air Filters, Anti-Icing, and many of the components to the LM6000 gas turbine package. Luke also manages estimating activities and strategic planning for Owens. Among his primary goals as a manager are effectiveness of processes and eliminating inefficiencies in steel fabrication.

Brandt Owens,
QC Manager

Brandt has been with Owens Specialty since 2011. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors of Science in Sociology and went on to attend Mountain State University where he earned his Masters Degree in Strategic Leadership. In addition to his duties as a Project Manager, Brandt also programs and details fabrication drawings to make them “shop ready” via AutoCad and other industry software.

James Johnson,
Operations Manager

James is in his 16th year with Owens Specialty. He started as head of Quality Assurance and worked his way to the Operations Manager position. Formerly with Stewart & Stevenson, James was an inspector for all gas turbine applications/fabrications. With Owens, James has assisted several companies with methods to streamline fabrication and cut expenses. James is also certified through AWS and is a Certified Weld Inspector.

Jordan French,
Purchasing Manager

Jordan has been with the company since 2010. He has quickly mastered the many aspects of procurement and materials management in regards to steel fabrication. Jordan uses his relationships with suppliers to make the best decisions possible when it comes to raw material purchasing. His diligence in this area makes it possible for us to pass any potential savings to our customers.

Ramon Marin,
Project Manager

Ramon started with Owens Specialty in 1981 as a welder. He worked his way to be a fitter, and then from there went on to become Foreman of Fabrication. He was then brought into the front office to be a Project Manager. Ramon has assisted GE in streamlining several fabrication processes for the LM6000 Air Filter. With over 30 years experience in the fabrication industry, Ramon brings a wealth of knowledge to the table.
